Qasid Online Summer 2026
Open House
We’re pleased to welcome prospective students again for a short, interactive virtual open house!
In this recording, Omar Matadar, Director of Qasid Arabic Institute, offers a clear framework for choosing the Arabic study track that best fits your goals, level, and learning environment.
Rather than treating Arabic as a set of disconnected paths, this session explains how Classical Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic, and spoken dialects each play a distinct role within the wider Arabic language. Omar also discusses the difference between performance and proficiency, why beginners should not overthink the starting point, and how students can build a more complete relationship with Arabic over time.
In this session, you will learn:
How Classical Arabic, Modern Standard Arabic, and Arabic dialects differ in use and purpose.
Why Arabic is best understood as one language with multiple registers.
How to think about performance, proficiency, and long-term Arabic learning.
Why beginners are usually encouraged to start with a strong structured foundation.
How intermediate learners can expand into new registers and environments.
Why advanced students benefit from deeper specialization.
How structured, semi-structured, and everyday exposure all support real progress.

About Qasid Online
-
A Legacy of Excellence in Arabic Instruction
Qasid Institute was founded in 2001 in Amman, Jordan, with a simple yet ambitious vision: to provide world-class Arabic education rooted in rigor, tradition, and excellence.
Nearly 25 years later, Qasid has grown into a global center of learning, welcoming students from more than 25 countries. Today, Qasid offers both on-site and online programs, making the same academic rigor available to those who cannot travel to Jordan.
We first began teaching online in 2012 — long before online learning became common — and have since spent over a decade refining and perfecting the Qasid Online experience.
-
What Qasid Online Offers
Our online program is designed for serious learners — those committed to measurable progress in Arabic. Whether you’re taking your very first steps or have made several previous attempts at Arabic, our goal is to create a personalized learning path that meets you where you are.
Qasid Online is not simply a set of pre-recorded lectures. Every student is paired with an instructor for live one-on-one sessions, ensuring a tailored experience that addresses your individual goals and challenges.
-
The “Flipped Classroom” Advantage
One of the pillars of Qasid Online is our flipped classroom approach. Here’s what that means for you:
• Independent Preparation: You’ll access recorded grammar lectures, vocabulary drills, and interactive exercises on your own time through our Learning Management System (LMS).
• Live Coaching Sessions: Your one-on-one sessions are fully devoted to speaking, listening, and activating what you’ve prepared. This means no wasted time on passive listening — every minute is spent using the language.
• Structured Activity Sheets: Each live session comes with a session guide, so you always know exactly what to expect and can focus on applying what you’ve learned.
This method ensures that your live contact time is highly efficient and immersive — a true “Arabic coaching” experience.
-
Tracks and Levels
Qasid Online offers multiple learning tracks:
• Modern Standard Arabic (MSA)
• Gulf Dialect (Newly launched)
Your choice of track depends on your goals — whether you’re preparing for graduate study, advancing your career, or deepening your connection to the Qur’an.
All our programs follow ACTFL proficiency standards, taking students from Novice through Advanced levels. Before starting, each student sits for a placement interview to determine their level, followed by an orientation session to ease them into the program.
-
Structure Meets Flexibility
Each course runs in 10-week quarters, with:
• 1 live session per week (students may add more)
• ~5 hours of independent study per session
• A total commitment of 6 hours per week
This balance of structure and flexibility allows students to build Arabic into their routine without compromising on academic rigor.
As our director Omar Matadar said during the previous session:
“Arabic is a jealous language. If you give it all of you, it will give you half of it. It wants your daily attention — even 30–45 minutes a day — to truly reward you with progress.”
-
The Human Connection
At the heart of Qasid Online is our faculty — passionate instructors with deep expertise in teaching Arabic as a second language. They are not just teachers, but mentors and guides, invested in your growth as a learner.
